CAMP DRESS CODE
We want Independent Baptist Camp to be a fun, challenging, and spiritual week, and we want you to enjoy your time with us. We understand that this week of camp will involve a variety of activities that require different types of clothing, ranging from swim wear to play clothes to nicer clothing for church. Because of this, we have attempted to develop clothing guidelines that are in the best interest of all campers, and we ask that these guidelines be followed cheerfully.
With this in mind, please strive always to be:
Respectful: Respect your fellow campers in what you wear and how you wear it. Strive always for an overall neat appearance.
Beautiful: Consider the interest of those who have to look at you during the day, not just your own desires about what you want to wear.
Modest: No tight tops or short skirts or shorts. Shirts may not reveal any midriff area when standing or sitting. Bra straps must be covered. Slits may not be above the knee when sitting. Pants on guys must be pulled up or held up with a belt so that underpants or boxers are not exposed.
Diligent: Dress as if you are planning to do all to the glory of God, and with all your might. Slovenly dress, including shirts untucked, pants hanging down to expose undies, and hair unkempt, is not acceptable.
Clean: You will get dirty this week. Every day. Please bring a change of clothing for each day, and fresh clothing for the evening services.
With these guidelines in mind, please review the following standards:
All campers must dress modestly and appropriately for all activities, at all times. You should not swim in your church clothes, nor should you come to church in your swim clothes. Tank tops are never allowed for boys or for girls outside of the swimming pool. Hats must be worn properly.
Boys: A shirt and long pants must be worn at all times. A collared shirt must be worn for evening meals and services. Shirts must be tucked in at all times. Swimsuits must be boxer style. Baggy pants and ear jewelry of any type are not allowed. Knee-length shorts may be worn for activities from 1:00-4:30 each afternoon.
Girls: Culottes may be worn during daytime activities. Knee length dresses or skirts must be worn for evening meals and services. Swimsuits should cover the body from the shoulders to the hips - a tank top and shorts/culottes/dress can be worn for swimming. Pants, low necklines, and tight-fitting clothes are not allowed.
If you have any questions about your clothing, please ask your counselor before coming to activities. If you are wearing unacceptable attire,
proper clothing will be provided for you. Independent Baptist Camp reserves the right to determine what is acceptable.
